Marie Metaphor is an educator, visual artist, poet and spoken word coach living and working in gratitude on the unceded and traditional territories of the Lekwungen and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples, (Victoria, BC). Rich in imagery and symbolism, Marie’s poetry leads with compassion. She aims to create moments of intimacy and connection with her work, tapping into that particular collaborative magic that happens between an artist and an attentive audience. Marie believes in the power of vulnerability in its ability to breed empathy and understanding among diverse individuals and communities. Marie’s poetry has been published in a number of anthologies and journals in print and online. She has performed her work in a wide variety of venues ranging from literary festivals to interdisciplinary arts events to local poetry slams. www.mariemetaphor.com
